With the new year fast approaching, now is the time to start thinking about your new year's resolutions. Instead of following the masses and choosing to improve your diet or top up your pension, why not give yourself a more realistic challenge.

Develop a new skill

Most of us have a skill we’ve always wanted to try, but have put off for years. Whether you’re a hairdresser who wants to develop an app, or a teacher who’s keen to start networking, now’s the time to learn. Get out of your comfort zone and try something new. It’s one of the best ways to challenge yourself as well as develop new ideas.

Set aside some time to achieve your goals

We’ve all got goals, but setting aside enough time to work on them can be difficult. Things like starting a new career, making more money, or doing more of what makes you happy are all possible as long as you invest enough time into doing it.

It might sound small, but dedicating just one day a week to work on your goal will make a significant difference.

Start your own business

You’re sick of your boss telling you what to do, you feel underappreciated and you’re dying to do something different. Now’s the time to take your business idea and make it real.

Don’t let the risk of failing put you off. Using things like the Cofoundery model lowers the risk of your entire project and provides you with support and guidance throughout the process.

Starting your own business could be the most rewarding thing you do, so if you’re not sure where to start, learn more about our free mentorship here.

Be confident and take more risks

It’s so easy to fall into the same dull routine day-in day-out. If you’re looking for fulfillment or a sense of purpose, start taking risks and push yourself.

We don’t suggest you start making gung-ho decisions about important things just to get a thrill. However, taking considered and calculated risks will add some excitement into your life and hopefully lead you to new interesting things.

Whichever new year’s resolution you choose, make 2018 the year you actually achieve it. You only regret the things you don’t do.
